The dynamic city of Salem seeks a qualified and highly motivated Planner/Conservation Agent to join the 14-person Planning and Community Development Department. Duties include providing technical assistance to the Conservation Commission, preparing grant applications, managing projects, and working with residents and neighborhood groups.
Ideal candidate has strong written and verbal communication skills, familiarity with Wetlands Protection Act and role of conservation commissions, computer and interpersonal skills, and ability to interpret development plans. Two or more years of professional work experience and master’s degree in planning or related discipline preferred.
