Who is a member?
Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
Responsible for the efficient performance of his/her duties in conformance with the rules, regulation and policies contained in this manual.
Identify criminal offenders and criminal activity and where appropriate, apprehend offenders and participate in subsequent court proceeding.
Reduce the opportunities for the commission of some crimes through preventative patrol and other measures
Identify problems that are potentially serious law enforcement concerns.
Create and Promote and preserve the peace.
Provide other services on an emergency basis.
Be civil and courteous at all times, realizing that s/he is presenting the Division and all police in general.
Create and maintain a feeling of security in the community.
Record his/her activities during his/her tour of duty in the manner prescribed to him/her by his/her superiors.
Patrol his/her assigned area for the general purpose of crime prevention and enforcement
Conform to all Massachusetts General Laws and town by-laws relative to traffic regulations
Respond to situations brought to his attention while in the course of routine patrol or assigned by radio.
