The town of Boxborough seeks a knowledgeable and collaborative Principal Assessor to lead the Town’s assessing operations and ensure fair, accurate, and equitable property valuations.

The Principal Assessor administers the town’s property valuation program, including maintaining assessment records, conducting property inspections and cyclical revaluations, and ensuring compliance with Massachusetts department of Revenue regulations. The role works closely with town leadership and the Board of Assessors to support the annual tax levy and tax rate setting process, administer abatements and exemptions, and provide clear guidance to residents and municipal officials.

The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of Massachusetts assessing practices, experience with property valuation or mass appraisal, excellent analytical and communication skills, and a commitment to fairness, transparency, and high-quality public service.

Salary range: approximately $78,596 – $100,588, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
