Job Description

The city of Marlborough Department of Public Works is accepting applications for a full-time Principal Billing Clerk to support the Water and Sewer division. This is a union position offering competitive wages, comprehensive municipal benefits, and a stable municipal career in a fast-paced customer service and billing environment supporting critical utility operations.

This position serves as a primary point of contact for water and sewer customers and is responsible for coordinating and processing utility billing, meter data, account maintenance, liens, real estate closing bills, and customer inquiries. The role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently resolve billing issues while working closely with DPW staff and other City departments. Experience with municipal billing systems, accounting support, and customer-facing office work is preferred.
