The city of Watertown seeks a Principal Department Assistant to be the lead administrative support at the Senior Services department. This position performs a variety of administrative and financial tasks, including processing payroll and invoices, maintaining departmental records, and coordinating program and participant information. Responsibilities also include preparing departmental communications and supporting overall operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree plus four to six years of professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite. Excellent customer service experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment with frequent interruptions is a requirement. Prior experience working with seniors is a plus.
SALARY: There is a 15-step salary range of $63,070 to $83,220. Hiring above Step 1 is dependent on qualifications, experience and education; applicants are typically hired in the lower half of the range.
