Crew Member – ASFME COUNCIL 93, LOCAL # 1703
The town of Lincoln – an organization that believes that workforce diversity strengthens performance, integrity, trust, and partnerships with our staff, boards, committees, community, and guests – is seeking a full-time Crew member for its Public Works Department. Under the supervision of the Public Works Superintendent, this position is responsible for: maintaining, repairing and improving the town’s roadways and roadsides (including but not limited to pavement, trees and vegetation, walls, paths, drainage systems, curbing, roadway signs and markers and other related public works responsibilities).
The crew member will also be responsible for: snow plowing and clearing, operating the town’s solid waste disposal and recycling programs (as well as other services that may be provided at the transfer station), and assisting the cemetery commission with interments and general care and maintenance of town cemeteries. The crew member will be required to participate in the Department’s On-Call requirements which include responding to off-hour work demands. In addition, they will be required to be available for weather related events including snowstorms. A valid driver’s license is required. A CDL Class B license and Massachusetts hoisting licenses 1C, 2A, 4G are preferred or must have the ability to obtain within one year of hire. Duties require knowledge equivalent to graduation from high school and one to three years of related maintenance and equipment operation experience.
