Job Description

The town of Duxbury is seeking an experienced and collaborative leader to serve as the Regional Public Safety Dispatch Director of the Regional Old Colony Communications Center (ROCCC). Reporting to the Town Manager, the Director provides operational, administrative, financial, and strategic leadership for a regional 24/7 public safety dispatch center serving multiple communities.

Responsibilities include supervising and evaluating Public Safety Dispatchers, overseeing staffing, scheduling, payroll, budgeting, grants, training, quality assurance, policy development, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The Director manages critical communications technology, works closely with Police and Fire Chiefs and municipal leadership, serves as liaison to Massachusetts State 911 Department, and provides operational support during major incidents and emergencies.

Qualified candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in public administration, emergency management, criminal justice, business, information systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience), with at least 10 years of public safety communications experience, including five years in a supervisory role. Experience managing a 24/7 communications center and public safety technology. Fiscal management expertise: operating and capital budgets, grants, procurement compliance, and vendor/contract management and experience in a union/collective bargaining environment. Preferred professional certifications include APCO RPL, NENA ENP, and NENA CMCP.

Pay range is $124,536 – $168,124. Actual salary is dependent upon qualifications.
