TOWN OF SANDWICH
The Town of Sandwich is seeking a full-time, 40 hour (minimum) per week Town Accountant. Position oversees the maintenance of comprehensive accounting records for the town and reports to the Finance Director. Oversees the proper expenditure of all town funds, including approval/audit of all financial payments/transactions. Supervises staff of two and manages payroll and AP/AR. Compiles and submits required annual reports to state and federal entities. Assists in overseeing the annual financial audit and assist all town departments on best practices related financial management and expenditure and revenue of their department’s budgets and revolving accounts. The ideal candidate will have strong computer and communication skills and have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with a thorough knowledge of municipal accounting principles and practices, three to five years related work experience, and must be MA Certified Governmental Accountant or eligible to take exam or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with State procurement laws required. Massachusetts Certified Pubic Purchasing Official (MCPPO) designation preferred. Pay range is: $80,000-$90,000, DOQ and experience.
