Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated professional to serve as our next Town Accountant, following the anticipated retirement of a long-tenured and highly respected incumbent. The salary range, depending on experience, is $95,125.00 – $110,275.94 increasing as of July 1 to $97,503.12 – $113,032.84, annually based upon forty (40) hours a week (Monday – Thursday), fifty-two (52) weeks a year. There is also a very generous benefits package, including paid time off, professional development and health and dental insurance (paid at 68% and 75% of the premiums). This is an overtime exempt, union position.
Education/Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, at least five years of municipal accounting or municipal auditing experience, at least three years of supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience, required. Massachusetts Municipal Auditors’ and Accountants’ Association (MMAAA) governmental certification preferred or the ability to obtain within three years from date of hire. VADAR experience highly desirable but not required.
