The town of Bolton, an AAA-rated community of 5,500 residents, is seeking a municipal finance professional to join its leadership team as Town Accountant. This 32-hour-per-week position (Monday-Thursday) offers the opportunity to play a meaningful role in the financial management of a well-run and fiscally stable community.
As Bolton’s statutory accounting officer, the Town Accountant oversees municipal accounting operations, financial reporting, audits, expenditure control, and state reporting requirements. The position works closely with the Town Administrator, Treasurer/Collector, department heads, and elected officials on budget development, financial planning, and long-range fiscal strategy.

Municipal accounting experience is preferred. Candidates should possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Experience with VADAR or similar municipal financial software.
Salary range: $68,096–$92,618, depending on qualifications and experience. Placement above the minimum is anticipated for candidates with municipal accounting experience.
