Who is a member?
Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
Operates a multitude of heavy equipment, including tractor-trailers and front-end loaders. Tractor-trailer operation consists of a variety of trailers including, but not limited to, 100-yd ejector-type municipal solid waste (MSW) trailers, 100-yd open-top C&D trailers, roll-off trailer, and dump trailer.
Must be able to operate equipment in a close proximity to the public in a safe manner. Required to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment as necessary.
Performs laboring duties as needed in the Recycling Center, Transfer Station, and C&D pad. May be temporarily assigned to Scale house Operator or Transfer Station Monitor positions. Must be able to perform duties under disagreeable and difficult conditions and have the ability to deal tactfully with the public. Must be available for weekend and holiday work.
Minimum of two years experience in the operation and maintenance of tractor-trailers and heavy equipment, with one year in the MSW or recycling fields preferred. Must possess a Massachusetts commercial driver’s license A with proper endorsements and a Massachusetts hoisting engineer license with a minimum of a 2C rating.
