The town of Grafton seeks a highly motivated individual to join its finance team as Treasurer/Collector. The successful candidate must have a broad knowledge of municipal finance. Primary responsibilities include the collection of taxes and receivables; assisting with payroll administration; receipt, custody, disbursement, and borrowing of funds; tax title administration; management and oversight of departmental and capital plan funds in accordance with state and federal law. The Treasurer/Collector manages a staff of three individuals and serves as a member of the town’s Financial Management Team. Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills are necessary.
Qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field; five to seven years of prior work experience preferably in a municipal government office; or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Must be certified with the Massachusetts Collectors and/or the Treasurers Association, if only one certification is held the successful applicant must obtain the other within two years of being hired. Must be able to be bonded.
The position is a full-time, 35 hours per week benefited position. The salary range for this position is $91,527.00 – $114,296.00 DOQ.
