Job Description
Title: Town Treasurer/Collector
- FLSA Exempt, Non-Union , Full Time 40 hours per week
- FY26, Grade 10NU $54.1307- $57.6704 per hour for steps 1-3(salary range exceeds hiring range) + excellent benefits
The Treasurer is responsible for the professional, administrative, and supervisory oversight of all municipal revenue operations, including the collection, custody, investment, and disbursement of town funds.
- Manage tax billing and collection for real estate, personal property, and excise taxes;
- Oversee cash management, borrowing, and tax title administration;
- Enforce delinquent tax laws.
- Supervise staff, maintain accurate financial records, reconcile accounts, and ensure compliance with GAAP, UMAS, and applicable regulations.
- Manage payroll and employee benefit disbursements.
- Oversee trust, pension, and stabilization funds.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial reports.
Requirements: *
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, business management or related field, masters preferred;
- Five years of experience in accounting, banking, and/or general finance;
- Two years of supervisory experience, five+ years of progressive managerial experience preferred or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certification as a Collector and Treasurer by the Massachusetts
- Collector/Treasurer Association desired. Must have the ability to be bonded.
- Experience with Tyler MUNIS preferred.
