Title: Town Treasurer/Collector

  • FLSA Exempt, Non-Union , Full Time 40 hours per week
  • FY26, Grade 10NU $54.1307- $57.6704 per hour for steps 1-3(salary range exceeds hiring range)  + excellent benefits

The Treasurer is responsible for the professional, administrative, and supervisory oversight of all municipal revenue operations, including the collection, custody, investment, and disbursement of town funds.

  • Manage tax billing and collection for real estate, personal property, and excise taxes;
  • Oversee cash management, borrowing, and tax title administration;
  • Enforce delinquent tax laws.
  • Supervise staff, maintain accurate financial records, reconcile accounts, and ensure compliance with GAAP, UMAS, and applicable regulations.
  • Manage payroll and employee benefit disbursements.
  • Oversee trust, pension, and stabilization funds.
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial reports.

Requirements: *

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, business management or related field, masters preferred;
  • Five years of experience in accounting, banking, and/or general finance;
  • Two years of supervisory experience, five+ years of progressive managerial experience preferred or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certification as a Collector and Treasurer by the Massachusetts
  • Collector/Treasurer Association desired. Must have the ability to be bonded.
  • Experience with Tyler MUNIS preferred.
