Position: Treasurer/Collector
Location: 20 Centre St., Middleborough
Status: Full-time
Hours: 40 hours per week
Wages: $110,000 +/- annually – Salary commensurate with experience
The town of Middleborough is seeking qualified applicants to serve as our Treasurer/Collector. The Treasurer/Collector is appointed by the Select Board and Town Manager and works under the administrative direction of the Director of Finance to perform administrative and supervisory duties and has full charge and responsibility for the operation and management of the office of the Treasurer/Collector.
The Treasurer/Collector assists with managing the town’s financial operations including the functions of overseeing revenue/collection services, debt service, bond issuances, tax title and foreclosure programs, tax and utility billing and collection, payroll processing and employee benefits.
Minimum qualifications include bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, business management or related field; five years of experience in a municipal finance position and an additional two years of supervisory experience as a Treasurer Collector; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Massachusetts certification as a Treasurer/Collector is desired. The successful candidate must have the ability to become bonded.
