Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
The MMA will host a webinar with state officials and representatives of FIFA World Cup Boston 2026 on April 13 to help municipalities prepare for the international soccer event.
The webinar will provide essential information for planning for the event, with an emphasis on public safety and transportation.
Speakers will include:
• Amy Getchell, manager of construction traffic management, Massachusetts Department of Transportation
• Erika Mazza, chief enterprise development officer, MBTA
• Rod Brooks, senior advisor for safety, operations, and capital, MBTA
• Dan Pinkham, special advisor to FIFA World Cup Boston 2026, Executive Office of Public Safety and Security
• Neil Doherty, director of government relations, FIFA World Cup Boston 2026
Gillette Stadium in Foxborough will be branded as “Boston Stadium” for the tournament and will host seven matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including a quarter-final scheduled for July 9. World Cup watch parties and other related events are also scheduled this summer around Massachusetts, including a main fan hub at Boston City Hall Plaza.
Boston 26 is the official host city initiative for the FIFA World Cup Boston.
Online registration is available for the 60-minute webinar, which will begin at noon. Only MMA members may register. MMA members include elected officials and municipal employees from MMA member communities across the state. Media members are not permitted to attend.
