The Massachusetts Clean Water Trust’s Board of Trustees on July 8 approved $244.5 million in low-interest loans and grants to municipalities through the Massachusetts State Revolving Funds.
The funds help communities build or replace water infrastructure that enhances existing water resources, ensures drinking water safety, protects public health, and increases community resilience.
More than $212 million in clean water project loans went to Barnstable, Chatham, Fitchburg, Haverhill, Hull, New Bedford, Orleans, Revere and Swampscott.
The Dracut Water Supply District and the towns of Pepperell and Yarmouth received nearly $31.7 million in drinking water project loans.
A $30,000 grant was awarded to the town of Upton for cybersecurity improvement. In The Beginning Preschool and East End House received $3,000 each for school water improvement.
