The town of Hamilton is hiring a part-time Health Inspector to help protect public health by inspecting food establishments, licensed camps, public and semi-public pools, housing, and other facilities. This position ensures local, state, and federal health codes are followed.

Job Details:

• Hours: Approximately 275 hours annually; on-call availability required for inspections.
• Pay: $29.91 – $31.12 per hour
• Reports to: Health Director
• Type: Non-exempt, Grade 8

Key Duties:

• Inspect restaurants, mobile food vendors, schools, and special events
• Check pools, camps, and ice rinks as necessary for safety and code compliance
• Respond to complaints and follow up on violations
• Keep inspection records and file reports
• Assist as necessary with emergency planning and response

Requirements:

• Associate’s degree and three-plus years of related experience
• Valid MA driver’s license
• Required certifications: Food Protection Manager Certification, Certified Pool Operator
• Knowledge of public health laws and strong communication skills. A writing sample may be requested.
