The purpose of this position is to provide clerical assistance to the Police department related to police and court records. The work involves attention to details to maintain accurate records, answering customer inquiries and managing records. Specifically, the incumbent screens incoming phone calls and mail, requests for police reports and correspondence; takes action if appropriate or refers to the appropriate staff member. In addition, he or she composes routine correspondence to attorneys or insurance companies to attach with various police reports or records, types letters, and monthly reports.
