The city of Watertown seeks talented applicants for the position of Program Coordinator at the Senior Services Department. Under the supervision/direction of the Director of Senior Services, the Program Coordinator schedules instructors, activities and speakers for daily lectures, fitness classes, workshops, and special events at the Senior Center and outreach programming held off-site.

This position is also responsible for the publicity of programs, production of the monthly newsletter, coordination of special events and parties and department volunteers. Must be able to work in a small team office setting and independently.

QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree in human services or related field, and a minimum of four years of experience working with older adults or in social services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a municipal setting. Proficient in computer skills. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and pass a CORI/SORI background check.

HOURS: The work week is 37.5 hours (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – p.m.; Tuesdays: 8:30 a.m. -7 p.m.; Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.).

SALARY: This is a union position with a starting salary of $70,951 annually. Hiring above Step 1 is dependent on qualifications and experience.
