The town of Ipswich Water department seeks qualified candidates for the full-time, union position of Water Treatment Plant Operator 3T or 4T. This is a skilled work full time position involved in the operation and maintenance of the water treatment plant, wells, booster stations and chemical feed systems as assigned. Responsible for the operation of pumps, chemical feed equipment, and other appurtenances at the water treatment plant and all wells and booster stations to maintain compliance with all applicable local, state and federal Drinking Water regulations. Work is conducted and reviewed under the supervision of a superior.
Minimum qualifications include: HS diploma or GED, supplemented by successful completion of specialized training in water treatment operations, chemistry or biology sciences, two years’ experience in a drinking water facility. Massachusetts Drinking Water Treatment Full Status Grade 3T Certification, or 4T OIT certification is required with ability to upgrade to full status within 12 months.
