An MMA webinar on Aug. 20 will focus on crisis communications and the importance of consistent messaging when cities and towns face unexpected challenges.

President Joyce McMahon and Jennifer Ranz, both of McMahon Communications, will provide a practical introduction to crisis communication planning and response, and demonstrate how preparation can make all the difference in crisis situations.

Attendees will learn about crafting messages after an incident, organizing responses, and keeping everyone on the same page when it matters most.

This webinar will aim to cover a number of crisis situations. On the Zoom registration page, the MMA encourages attendees to suggest crises that would serve as the most helpful examples for learning specific communications strategies.

The 75-minute webinar will begin at noon. Online registration is available.

Only MMA members may register. MMA members include elected officials and municipal employees from MMA member communities across the state. Media members are not permitted to attend.
