Job Description

The town of Southborough seeks applicants for a Business Administrator who is primarily responsible for Payroll/Benefits in the Treasurer’s Office. This full-time position requires a team player with excellent customer service skills and an interest in serving the public. This position also allows the right candidate to create a terrific situation to learn, grow, and work in local government administration and develop a strong understanding of municipal finance that will help further their municipal career.

Requirements include:

  • Maintaining employee files, processing payroll, administering and developing employee benefits, health insurance and wellness programming for employees and retirees
  • Assisting residents with payments/inquiries. This employee is required to also support the needs of this busy finance department
  • Experience in MS Office is essential, Harpers payroll experience is advantageous, and knowledge of municipal finance is an asset
  • A successful candidate will also possess enthusiasm for employee relations and a desire to expand their knowledge in the field of human resources
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred; three to five years of progressive administrative experience or related field are desired; experience working with government, the public and responding to customer service requests are also an asset
  • Pay range is $27.32-$36.05/hour
