The city of Amesbury is seeking a dynamic Council on Aging Director to lead programs and services supporting the city’s elder population. Reporting to the Mayor and working closely with the COA Board, the Director will oversee operations, budgets, staff, and transportation services, while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This role includes program development, grant writing, community engagement, and strategic planning aligned with the IAMesbury 2030 Master Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and manage senior programs
Supervise and support COA staff
Advocate for elder needs across agencies
Administer departmental budgets and reporting
Oversee the Nicholas J. Costello Transportation Center
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience; master’s preferred. Strong leadership, communication, budgeting, and grant-writing skills required. Knowledge of elder services, municipal operations, and public benefits essential.
