The city of Amesbury is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated part-time Energy Manager to lead local efforts in sustainability, energy efficiency, and climate resilience.
This position works closely with city departments, residents, businesses, and state/federal partners to implement energy-saving initiatives, manage grants, and promote environmental programs. Responsibilities include overseeing greenhouse gas reporting, developing a Climate Action Plan, managing municipal energy data, pursuing grant opportunities (e.g., Green Communities, MVP), and providing public education on sustainability.
Ideal candidates will have a degree or relevant experience in environmental science or a related field, and five-plus years of professional experience in energy, climate, or sustainability work. Strong communication, grant writing, and project management skills are essential.
This is a part-time role under the Community and Economic Development department. Some evening and weekend availability may be required.
