Who is a member?
Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
Performs information services; assists patrons with requests for information or materials; assists patrons in the choice of materials; searches sources; provides referrals; teaches patrons and trains staff on the use of new data bases and techniques on how to use the library, computer resources and on-line catalog, virtual catalog, inter-library loan, and the use of the clams system for borrowing from other libraries. assist patrons with technology needs and troubleshooting on public (library owned) and personal devices. instruct patrons in the use of e-materials, including e-books, e-audio, and streaming services.
Collaborates on the planning and implementation of programs for adults. promotes and publicizes library activities; prepares press releases and other public relations materials.
serves as library representative on clams committees as requested; attends workshops and relevant professional meetings. remains abreast of issues, practices, and trends in library technology.
Maintain the library’s digital presence, including updating the website, digital resources and databases, and social media accounts.
Position requires a bachelor’s degree with a master’s degree in library science, from an ALA accredited graduate school preferred.
