Job Description

The town of Medfield seeks a candidate for the part-time position of Energy Manager. This is a new, three-year grant-funded position for Medfield, and the candidate should be motivated, a self-starter, and passionate about energy management. Candidate will have the opportunity to be part of an exciting new elementary school project currently accepted into the MSBA program.
Candidate will be responsible for the following:
Utilizing Energy Management Assessment and/or the Mass Energy Insight tool
Develop a multi-year Energy Management Plan for review and approval by the Select Board
Prepares an annual work plan, tracks implementation, and prepares quarterly and annual reports
In coordination with the Town Administrator and Superintendent of Schools, develops and manages projects that will reduce annual energy use and/or reduce carbon emissions. Projects may be short-term or require long-term planning
Act as liaison to the Medfield Energy Committee
Maintain compliance with Green Communities designation from MA DOER for school and other municipal facilities, streetlights, vehicle fleet, including grant management, annual reporting, and maintenance of municipal Mass Energy Insight profile
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in environmental planning and/or science, policy, engineering or related field and three to five years in mechanical, electrical, facility, or other engineering field; energy efficiency; project management (with an energy focus); energy management; or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Salary is $60,000.
