The city of Cambridge seeks a Branch Manager for the library who oversees the daily operations of the O’Neill Branch and manages and trains the O’Neill Branch staff. Leads all branch operations to align with the Library’s mission and strategic goals. Oversees staff performance, scheduling, training, and professional development. Conducts evaluations, sets goals, and addresses performance issues. Ensures excellent customer service and enforces library policies, including patron behavior. Provides daily mentorship, promotes staff engagement, and fosters a collaborative work environment. Participates in system-wide initiatives and leads meetings to ensure information flow. Delivers high-quality public service, including reference, reader’s advisory, and circulation. Manages collection development and adult programming; supervises youth programming. Oversees circulation functions such as fines, shelving, and materials processing. Promotes library services, engages in outreach, and maintains strong community relationships. Supports patrons with digital tools and technologies, ensuring equitable service and digital inclusion. Manages the branch budget, orders supply, ensures building upkeep, and maintains clean public spaces. Stays current in the profession through training and may represent the Library externally.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Masters in library and information science; experience with diverse populations.
Rate: $41.35 – $47.04 hourly
