The town of Plymouth is seeking qualified applicants for the position of ASSISTANT TAX COLLECTOR for the Collector/Treasurer’s Office.
Provides technical, record keeping, supervisory, and clerical support work in assisting the Tax Collector with the collection of all taxes due to the town. Collects payments, prepares cash reports, reconciles cash received and posts amounts received to accounts; maintains records of receipts, abatements and refunds. Reconciles balances of all books, assists in the preparation and mailing of tax bills, researches and prepares municipal lien certificates. Assists the Tax Collector and supervises the preparation of lists of taxpayers for tax title taking, prepares paperwork for tax liens and tax foreclosures.
Bachelor’s degree with course work in public administration, finance, business, accounting or a related field, and three years of related experience; experience in resolving difficult customer service requests; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be bonded.
