Join our team and help shape the future of Dracut! The town of Dracut is seeking a dedicated Local Building Inspector to assist the Inspector of Buildings in enforcing the town of Dracut Zoning Bylaws, the Massachusetts State Building Code 780 CMR, the Architectural Access Board Regulations 521 CMR, and other state and local laws.
In this role, you will review plans and specifications, approve or deny building permits, and conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with regulations. You will handle counter inquiries, complaints, and applications, and respond to and investigate complaints, which may include appearances before town boards or in court. Keeping accurate public records and working cooperatively with other town departments and state officials are also key responsibilities.
We are looking for candidates with at least five years of experience in building construction or design supervision, or a related associate’s degree. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel is required, and training will be provided for Viewpoint software. A valid Class D driver’s license and a suitable vehicle for transportation are necessary.
This full-time, non-union position offers a salary range of $64,519.00 – $91,974.33 annually, with excellent benefits. For more information, please visit dracutma.gov/jobs.
