Field Inspector – Public Works

Job Description

The Field Inspector is responsible for overseeing and inspecting the work of contractors on municipal infrastructure construction and maintenance projects. The position ensures that work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, safety regulations, and applicable codes. The Field Inspector also coordinates with project managers, engineers, contractors, and utility representatives. The employee is required to perform all similar or related duties.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Graduate of a four-year college with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or closely related field with three to five years work experience with either another public entity or in a civil engineering firm; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skill and abilities to perform the essential function of the job. Special Requirements: Valid Motor Vehicle Driver’s License.
