The town of Norwood seeks qualified candidates to join its Fire department as a Firefighter–Paramedic, protecting life and property through firefighting, emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, and fire prevention. Duties include operating fire apparatus and equipment, performing fire suppression and rescue operations, providing advanced life support, conducting building inspections, participating in drills and training, maintaining equipment and facilities, and engaging in community education on safety and fire prevention.
Minimum Requirements:
Massachusetts EMT-Paramedic certification (or enrolled in a paramedic program at hire); certification must be maintained.
Pro Board-Certified Firefighter I/II from a full-time Fire Academy preferred (required for lateral entry).
Must be 18+ years old, possess a valid driver’s license, and pass all pre-employment screenings, including physical ability, medical, and background checks.
