The town of Rockland is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Treasurer in the Treasurer’s office. This position performs clerical, administrative, and technical financial duties, with primary responsibility for processing payroll for all town and school employees, as well as serving as Acting Treasurer in their absence.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, public administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience); prior payroll/finance or municipal operations experience preferred; and must be bondable. Proficiency with Microsoft Office required, experience with MUNIS or Harper’s payroll systems a plus.
This is a union position (AFSCME Clerical) with a starting rate of $33.38/hour. The town offers an excellent benefits package, including Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance with 79% town contribution, dental, life insurance, and retirement through Plymouth County Retirement.
