The Town of Carver is seeking qualified candidates to add to its professional municipal finance team to serve as the Senior Accountant. The Town of Carver (pop. 11,645), has a $46 million budget and a S&P AA bond rating. Candidates should have exceptional financial acumen and municipal finance knowledge. Reporting to the Finance Director and Town Administrator, the Senior Accountant responsibilities include maintaining a complete set of accounting records including appropriations, expenditures, receipts, assessments, levies and abatements.
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, a minimum of two years of responsible related experience in accounting or financial management. Candidates should have thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of municipal accounting, applicable provisions of the Mass. General Laws and municipal finance software. The starting salary for this position is $81,300.
