Job Description

The town of Andover is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Public Health to lead our dynamic Public Health division within the Community Development and Planning department. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of our community while serving as a key member of the town’s senior leadership team.

In this role, you’ll provide strategic leadership in public health administration, environmental sanitation, and community health initiatives, while working closely with the Town Manager, Board of Health, and regional partners. You’ll oversee public health programs, inspections, environmental compliance, and disease prevention efforts, ensuring Andover continues to thrive as a safe and healthy community.

The ideal candidate brings:

• A master’s degree in public health, environmental health, or related field

• Five-plus years of leadership experience in public or environmental health

• Strong expertise in public health regulations, inspections, and enforcement

• Exceptional communication and leadership skills to engage residents, staff, and stakeholders
