The Northern Bristol County Public Health Alliance (NBCPHA) seeks a full-time Regional Inspector to serve six member communities: Attleboro, Berkley, Dighton, North Attleboro, Rehoboth, and Taunton. Based out of Berkley, this field-based position enforces state and local public health laws and regulations, conducts environmental and food safety inspections, and provides community education. Areas of work include wastewater treatment, food establishments, housing, recreational facilities, tobacco/marijuana retailers, and nuisance complaints. Salary range is $65,000–$75,000, with extensive training and professional development provided.
The ideal candidate has knowledge of public and environmental health practices, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently across diverse communities. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in public or environmental health (or equivalent experience) is preferred, along with relevant certifications such as Registered Sanitarian, Soil Evaluator, or Title 5 Inspector (or eligibility to obtain them within set timelines). A valid MA driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required; bilingual skills are a plus.
