Development Specialist
Department: Office of Planning & Economic Development (OPED)
The City of Holyoke seeks a Development Specialist to support the Director of OPED and Assistant Director of Economic Development in advancing economic development, real estate, business recruitment and retention, and planning initiatives.
Responsibilities include assisting with OPED, Holyoke Redevelopment Authority, and Holyoke Economic Development and Industrial Corporation programs; preparing meeting materials and reports; supporting grant research and administration; serving as liaison to businesses and entrepreneurs; and performing administrative and project management duties. Occasional evening meetings required.
Candidates should have knowledge of economic development or urban planning, strong communication and analytical skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (GIS familiarity preferred). Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively is essential.
Bachelor’s degree preferred with three years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Status: Full-time, 35 hours/week
FLSA: Exempt
Salary: $50,614.56 – $66,937.75 (Grade 8, AFSCME)
