The MMA will host a webinar on Oct. 15 to help municipal officials prepare for the implementation of the federal 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act.
The ROAD to Housing Act, which became law in July, is the most comprehensive federal housing package in more than three decades. It includes financial incentives and support for both the public and private sector aimed at reducing housing costs and expanding the housing supply.
While it will take some time for the law’s grant and pilot programs to be set up, cities and towns can prepare now in order to take advantage of the resources that will become available.
Webinar panelists will be:
• MMA Legislative and Policy Counsel Ali Dimatteo
• National League of Cities Legislative Director of Housing, Community, and Economic Development Mike Wallace.
Attendees will learn about the law’s changes and programs, when the programs will become available, and steps municipalities can take now in anticipation of these new programs and opportunities.
Online registration is available for the 75-minute webinar, which will begin at noon. Only MMA members may register. MMA members include elected officials and municipal employees from MMA member communities across the state. Media members are not permitted to attend.
