The Attorney General’s Office yesterday issued guidance for employers on the state’s equal pay law and the amendments that will go into effect on July 1.
The changes to the Massachusetts Equal Pay Act (Ch. 149, Sect. 105A) are intended to provide more clarity as to what constitutes unlawful wage discrimination and add protections to ensure greater fairness and equity in the workplace, according to the attorney general.
The Attorney General’s Office is offering guidance and resources to help employers comply with the law.
