The Federal Emergency Management Agency Grants Programs Directorate is accepting applications for three fire safety grant programs: the Fire Prevention and Safety grant program, the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response grant program, and the Assistance to Firefighters grant program.

The Fire Prevention and Safety program aims to enhance the safety of the public and firefighters through two categories of support: activities for high-risk target groups to mitigate fire-related injuries and deaths, and research and development work that improves firefighter safety.

Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response provides financial assistance to help fire departments increase frontline firefighters through both hiring firefighters and recruiting and retaining volunteer firefighters.

The Assistance to Firefighters program provides direct financial assistance to equip and train emergency personnel to recognized standards, outfit responders with compliant personal protective equipment, retrofit or modify facilities to protect personnel from known health hazards, acquire emergency response vehicles, design and implement health, institute wellness and resiliency programs that prepare responders for incident response, enhance operational efficiencies, foster interoperability, and support community resilience.

Applications for these programs are due June 22.

Eligible applicants include fire departments, national, state or local federally recognized Native American tribal governments, municipal governments, county governments, and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.

Application details and other program information is on the grant website.
