Norfolk County consists of 28 eastern Massachusetts communities, mostly located to the south and west of Boston. The county was incorporated as a regional governmental entity in 1793, and has its county seat at the town of Dedham. Norfolk County owns six courthouses providing all maintenance and support for safe occupancy; and provides engineering services, a regional agricultural high school, and a public golf course.
