The new Regional Restoration Partnerships Program will support partnerships working to restore aquatic ecosystems and increase climate change resiliency.

The Division of Ecological Restoration is launching a new Regional Restoration Partnerships Program, which will support partnerships working to restore aquatic ecosystems and increase climate change resiliency.

The goal of the program is to increase the pace and scale of ecological restoration in Massachusetts by building the capacity of local and regional organizations to collaboratively advance restoration work.

The DER has opened the pre-request for responses, which gives a preview of what to expect when the full RFR is released this summer. The RFR will solicit proposals from eligible nonprofit organizations and regional planning agencies.

The pre-RFR period is open until June 25 at 4 p.m.

The DER will be available to discuss the program and answer questions during the pre-RFR period, and encourages those who are considering applying to contact the division to discuss their proposed partnership. Once the full RFR is published, DER staff will not be able to discuss application details or individual partnerships.

Interested applicants are encouraged to contact Ecological Restoration Partnerships Specialist Jenny Sanders at DER.Partnerships@mass.gov or 617-626-1508.

A virtual grant information session will be held on June 15, 10-11 a.m., to provide more information about the Partnerships Program and the application process. To register, email Jenny Sanders (DER.Partnerships@mass.gov) by 4 p.m. on Friday, June 11.

The DER anticipates release of the full RFR on June 28, with applications due on July 23 at 4 p.m.
