Municipal officials and state legislators are invited to these free meetings, which offer an informal opportunity to talk with area legislators, fellow municipal officials and MMA staff about key legislative initiatives and important issues facing communities.

The spring meetings are an opportune time to weigh in on Gov. Charlie Baker’s proposed fiscal 2019 state budget before the House and Senate draft their own budget bills for the coming year.

Other topics expected to be discussed are the recreational marijuana regulations due by March 15, the governor’s new Housing Choice Initiative, a new law that extends Occupational Safety and Health Administration protections to public workers, and other legislative issues.

A continental breakfast will be provided by the MMA at 8 a.m. Introductions will begin at 8:15, followed by presentations and Q&A. The meetings will end by 10 a.m.

Attendees are asked to contact their legislators and invite them to attend as well.

While meetings are free to attend, members are asked to pre-register.
