Rep. Michael Day (left) speaks with Wakefield Town Councillor Mehreen Butt during an MMA Legislative Breakfast Meeting in Andover on March 22.

Friday - September 27, 2019
8:00 am – 10:00 am

Twice a year, the MMA hosts a series of meetings in communities across the state to give local leaders, legislators and MMA staff the opportunity to network in an informal setting, exchange information and discuss issues of importance in state and local government.

The 2019-2020 legislative session is approaching the halfway mark, and the MMA is tracking hundreds of bills that would affect cities and towns. Relevant bills will be discussed, along with topics such as education finance, economic development and housing, municipal recycling and recreational marijuana.

City and town officials from every community are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to talk about local successes and challenges and to give input on the MMA’s legislative priorities.

A continental breakfast will be provided at 8 a.m. Introductions will begin at 8:15, followed by presentations and Q&A. The meetings will end by 10 a.m.

The meetings are free to attend, but members are asked to pre-register.

Attendees are urged to contact their local legislators and invite them to attend as well.
