The Massachusetts Municipal Management Association will hold a Women Leading Government event on Nov. 7 at Pine Ridge Golf Club in Oxford.

Improving public speaking skills is the focus of this event. Whether you do it on a regular basis or avoid it at all costs, elevating your public speaking game is something everyone could use help with. The session will cover how to build confidence, calm nerves, and boost your executive presence and vocal power.

The day’s speaker, Kristin Van Busum, is an experienced trainer in public speaking, but also has a passion for women’s issues. She is the founder of Project Alianza, a nonprofit that brings education to young girls in Nicaragua.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. with registration and networking and conclude with lunch at noon.

The event is free, but registration is required. Any municipal employee, male or female, interested in advancing his or her career may register.

The mission of Women Leading Government is to encourage women to pursue management positions in local government, but any non-elected municipal employee is also welcome to attend WLG events.
