Who is a member?
Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
Founded in 1970, WEMO is one of the oldest associations of women public officials in the United States. With MMA support, WEMO promotes the leadership of women elected municipal officials and sponsors programming designed to hone their skills in leadership and governance. WEMO is hosting it’s first half day leadership conference on Saturday, July 20 at, and in partnership with, Wellesley College. The event will begin with a networking breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and feature an inspiring keynote presentation from Dr. Paula Johnson. The day will continue with multiple sessions on municipal leadership, media relations, and women supporting women. The conference will conclude by 2 p.m. after the networking lunch. Women elected municipal officials can register online and the price is $35 per person.
