The town of Rockport is seeking qualified applicants to join our team as a full-time (35 hours/week) Accounting Support Specialist reporting to the Managing Accountant. This position provides accounting, financial and administrative service within the Accounting Department.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s in accounting with one to two years’ experience preferred or associate degree with three to five years progressive responsibility in accounting/general ledger may be considered. Knowledge of accounting policies, practices and procedures, advanced knowledge of computer applications and accounting software. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Highly self-motivated. High attention to detail, ability to multi-task. Ability to communicate to a varied audience of end users in a patient and consistent manner. Successful municipal or non-profit experience preferred.
