Position: Animal Control Officer

Location: 50 Joe Ciaglo Way, Middleborough, MA 02346

Status: Full-time

Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday) with additional on-call hours required

Wage: $33.8307 per hour, Grade B, Step 1

15 annual steps in accordance with the current General Municipal Employee Group contract

General Description

The Town of Middleborough seeks qualified applicants for the position of Animal Control Officer. This position is responsible for a variety of duties related to the control and regulation of animals under the direction and supervision of the Director of Planning and Community Development.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, and 1 to 3 years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must have a valid Animal Control Officer Association Certificate
• Must have or be able to complete the Massachusetts Animal Fund Animal Control Institute’s Core Competencies Training
• Required to have rabies prophylaxis
• A genuine love and empathy for animals, demonstrated through compassionate handling and a commitment to their welfare in challenging situations
