The Town of Plymouth seeks qualified applicants for the position of ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF FINANCE to work with all aspects of the Finance Department.

Responsible for ensuring all financial transactions of the municipal operations are in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local Laws, bylaws, and regulations and that financial resources for municipal operations are adequately safeguarded; and used as effectively as possible. Assist the Director of Finance in planning and administering all financial and accounting operations and reporting. Responsible for the financial planning and coordination of all municipal departments related to financial activities within the Town by providing periodic reports and making recommendations to the Director of Finance concerning financial policies and practices. Assists the Director of Finance in the research, development, and implementation of policies and procedures affecting the Finance Department as well as other Town departments.
Works under the written and verbal direction of the Director of Finance. Performs duties independently based on their own technical and professional judgement while working within established policies and procedures, consulting with the Director when exceptions or clarifications are required. May provide supervision to members of the Finance Division’s financial support team as it is related to budget, general ledger, revenue, payroll, accounts payable, reporting, grants, and financial analysis.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, government administration, or related field. Masters preferred; more than 5 years progressively responsible financial and administrative experience in municipal finance management; of which 3 years must be in a supervisory capacity. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The salary range for this position is $117,230.36 – $147,837.04 per year, 37.5 hours per week. Posting will remain open through Sept. 12, 2025. Application reviewed upon receipt.
