The town of Stow is looking for a motivated and experienced HR professional to fill the full-time (37.5 hours/week, FLSA exempt) role of Assistant Town Administrator, with a primary focus on Human Resources.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, people-focused individual to play a key role in shaping the employee experience and supporting a dedicated municipal workforce. As the town’s Human Resources Director, you will lead recruitment and retention efforts, oversee employee relations, benefits administration, and policy development, and ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws.
In addition to HR responsibilities, you will support the Town Administrator across a broad range of initiatives and special projects — contributing to the strategic direction and operational excellence of the town.

Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, human resources management, or a closely related field; master’s degree preferred. Five to seven years of related administrative experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Municipal experience required. Must possess a valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator’s license.
Salary: Grade 8 of the Town’s Compensation and Wage Schedule, with FY26 salary range of $97,390 – $127,779. Benefit eligible. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until filled.
