The town of Hardwick is seeking a qualified individual for the Assistant Treasurer/Collector position. This is a full time, benefited, nonunion position. This employee may, in the absence of the Treasurer/Collector, perform the functions of the Treasurer/Collector as well as overseeing the town’s personnel and payroll programs, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local personnel laws. This employee is responsible for administering healthcare benefits, retirement administration, tax and utility billing collections and administration, local revenue collections, cash and treasury management, payroll withholdings processing, investment of funds, borrowing and debt service management, disbursement of funds, and deferred compensation programs. Qualifications: Associates degree in business administration or a related field and at least two years of progressively responsible experience in municipal government involving treasurer/collector and personnel administration functions or any equivalent combination of education and experience. In accordance with MGL Ch 41, Section39A. Preferred Qualifications: VADAR experience strongly preferred. MA Municipal Treasurer or Collector Certification with three years of experience.
